Job Summary
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our dynamic team at Back Bay Gourmet, where fresh, seasonal flavors meet neighborhood hospitality. This role supports both our bistro and market kitchens, combining creativity with precision to craft and elevate approachable food in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily kitchen operations, from prep to service
- Help develop seasonal menus and specials
- Maintain inventory and uphold sanitation standards
- Support market- ready food prep and presentation
- Possess excellent communication skills; be comfortable “digging in” to any situation, and manage a diverse group of people and personalities
- Be a proactive and creative problem-solver who is responsive and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for seasonal ingredients
- Ability to multitask and stay cool under pressure
- Have a passion for local sourcing & an appreciation for cooking in a noncorporate environment
- Servesafe or equivalent certification preferred
