Overview:
Twinkle Peds Psych is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. As a Pediatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to pediatric patients. Your role will involve diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, prescribing medications, and implementing therapeutic interventions. Duties:
- As a mental health professional, your responsibilities include:- Conducting diagnostic evaluations and assessments- Developing individualized treatment plans- Prescribing and monitoring medication regimens- Providing counseling and psychotherapy services- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals- Educating patients and their familiesal health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Utilize health coaching techniques to support patients in achieving their mental health goals.
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans based on patient presentation.
- Interpret lab results as indicated.
- Make independent clinical decisions based on protocols developed utilizing national guidelines for treating mental health conditions.
- Maintain customer relations with patients and referral sources.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and satisfied with services received in person or via videoconferencing.
- Log on to the videoconferencing platform and EMR 15 minutes before the scheduled shift to ensure the connection is stable before a virtual appointment.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric nursing.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Current & Unrestricted Texas license.
- Two years of experience as a child adolescent psychiatric provider.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technologies.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proven ability to be flexible with the work environment within the defined work hours.
- Must be able to sit for at least 8 hours during the scheduled shift.
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of e-mail systems and web-based conferencing.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
- Must have a valid DEA number or the ability to obtain a DEA license.
- Active CPR Certification.
