Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engines, and other mechanical systems.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and automotive electrical components.
- Execute vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and tire rotations to ensure safety and performance.
- Repair or replace vehicle parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools with precision.
- Conduct wheel alignments and suspension adjustments to optimize vehicle handling and safety standards.
- Assist with auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and documenting work performed for warranty or insurance purposes.
- Maintain detailed service records, follow dealership procedures, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive service procedures.
- Expertise in automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge of powertrain systems, transmissions, diesel engines, and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools efficiently.
- Familiarity with ADAS technology, vehicle alignment procedures, and automotive electrical systems.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Service technician experience with auto estimating software is advantageous.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques along with general automotive repair expertise.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
