Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team to support our healthcare team in performing necessary administrative and clinical duties for efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting while delivering excellent patient care. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency with medical records, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and physiology.
PROOF OF ACTIVE/CURRENT CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT CERTIFICATION IS MANDATORY FOR THIS POSITION
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital environments preferred; experience in allergy or dermatology medicine is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to various specialties, ICD 10/CPT Coding, insurance policies regarding prior authorizations
- Attention to detail with strong ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence across diverse populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments as directed
- Perform allergy testing (if applicable) and document results accurately
- Perform spirometry and fractional nitric oxide measurement
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Handle patient calls, messages, and follow-ups
- Maintain accurate medical records and chart documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office protocols
- Prior Authorizations
This position is FULL TIME in office (not remote)
Hours are Monday through Friday from 830am to 500pm.
Pay is based on work experience as a certified medical assistant
Pay: $17.00 - $20.60 per hour
License/Certification:
- medical assistant certification (Preferred)
