Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management.
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Manage employee orientation, training, and development to foster a high-performing team.
- Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a skilled workforce.
- Supervise shift management, ensuring smooth store functions during operational hours.
- Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems, cashiering procedures, and cash handling processes with accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain inventory management through stock monitoring, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment.
- Handle purchasing decisions, budgeting tasks, and payroll processing to support store profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with vendors, staff, and customers effectively.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail store management or assistant managerial roles within the retail industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent negotiation abilities for vendor relations and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices.
- Effective employee orientation, training & development skills to enhance team performance.
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement.
- Solid understanding of retail math including sales analysis, pricing strategies, and budgeting.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in stock control and operational procedures.
- Customer service expertise coupled with phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Experience with grocery or wireless sales is a plus; familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage payroll, cash handling, cashiering, and inventory control accurately.
- Strong time management skills to handle shift scheduling and operational deadlines efficiently.
