A1 Engineering is looking for a motivated CNC Mill Machinist who wants more than just running parts — someone who wants to grow into setup ownership and CNC programming using Mastercam.
We are a family-owned machine shop (est. 1971) focused on quality, efficiency, and long-term team members. This position offers a clear path to advance your skills while working in a clean, well-equipped shop with a strong team culture.
What You’ll Do
- Perform complete CNC mill setups (tooling, workholding, offsets)
- Prove out new and existing jobs for quality and efficiency
- Read prints and hold tight tolerances
- Troubleshoot issues and make process improvements
- Run production while maintaining consistent part quality
- Inspect parts using standard measuring tools
- Support production (deburring, material prep, etc.)
As you grow in the role, you will:
- Learn and develop Mastercam programming skills
- Assist with toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and cycle time improvements
- Progress toward independent setup + programming responsibility
What We’re Looking For
- CNC machining experience (milling preferred)
- Setup experience OR strong desire to learn setups
- Ability to read prints and understand tolerances
- Mechanically inclined with problem-solving ability
- Basic computer skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
Preferred:
- 2-year machining degree or equivalent experience
- Exposure to Mastercam or other CAM software
