The School Kitchen Aide supports the daily operations of the school cafeteria by assisting with food preparation, meal service, cleaning, and kitchen organization. This position plays an important role in ensuring students receive safe, nutritious meals in a clean and efficient food service environment.

Assist with preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals for students and staff

Set up, stock, and break down serving lines and food service areas

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, cafeteria, equipment, and food storage areas

Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment

Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing food deliveries

Support proper food handling, portioning, and meal service procedures

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

Assist with inventory organization and kitchen supply restocking

Support Food Service staff with daily operational tasks as needed

Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean and safe work environment

Perform other related duties as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Prior experience in food service, cafeteria, or kitchen environments preferred but not required

Ability to follow instructions and food safety procedures

Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to cleanliness and detail

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed

ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
Full-time, 10-month position aligned with the school academic calendar. Work hours are based on cafeteria service needs.
