The Montessori Academy of Celebration is seeking an exceptional educator to join our Erdkinder program serving adolescents in middle and high school. We believe exceptional schools are built by exceptional teachers, and we are interested in meeting talented professionals who are passionate about authentic Montessori education.
Our Erdkinder program prepares students for adulthood through meaningful work, rigorous academics, personal responsibility, entrepreneurship, and service to the community. Teachers serve as mentors and guides, helping students develop independence, confidence, critical thinking, and a strong sense of purpose while maintaining fidelity to Montessori philosophy.
The ideal candidate is committed to Montessori education, enjoys working with adolescents, values collaboration, communicates effectively with families and colleagues, and continually seeks professional growth. We are especially interested in candidates who hold Montessori certification and are dedicated to authentic Montessori experiences for older students.
Qualifications
- Montessori Erdkinder certification (AMS, AMI, NCME, or equivalent) strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience working with adolescent students preferred.
- Experience in a Montessori classroom preferred.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and authentic Montessori philosophy.
- Ability to mentor students as they develop independence, responsibility, and leadership.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative, reflective, and growth-oriented professional.
- Proficiency with educational technology and classroom software.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- U.S. work authorization required.
Responsibilities
- Guide the intellectual, social, emotional, and moral development of adolescents through authentic Montessori practice.
- Prepare and maintain a purposeful learning environment that promotes independence, responsibility, and meaningful work.
- Observe students carefully and individualize instruction based on each student’s developmental needs.
- Foster critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and respectful communication within the classroom community.
- Help students connect academic learning with real-world experiences, service, and personal responsibility.
- Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, specialists, and school leadership.
- Maintain open, positive, and professional communication with parents throughout the school year.
- Participate in conferences, faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining classroom materials and preparing the learning environment throughout the year.
- Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and policies of the Montessori Academy of Celebration.
