Position Summary
We’re hiring a Customer Service & Operations Associate to help support daily operations in our shop. This role combines administrative work, customer service, and hands-on support. You’ll be answering phones, making outbound customer service calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with orders, washing and preparing knives, managing shipping and receiving for our mail-in program, and helping the team wherever needed.
This isn’t just a back-office role. It’s a customer-facing position where personality matters. We need someone who is outgoing, service-minded, organized, and motivated to take initiative without waiting for direction. Over time, this position may also have the opportunity to learn the craft of sharpening and work alongside our skilled sharpeners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and by email and text
- Make outbound customer service calls to confirm details, follow up with customers, and ensure satisfaction
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for the sharpening team to keep service running efficiently
- Handle administrative tasks that support daily shop operations
- Wash, prep, and package knives for sharpening and shipping
- Manage mail-in sharpening orders and ensure they are shipped and returned on time
- Support sharpeners in the shop and assist with inventory
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Highly organized with strong scheduling and time-management skills
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- A self-starter who is willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed
- Computer literacy and comfort working in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Canva
- A background in customer service, hospitality, or a related field is a plus
- Spanish-speaking is a bonus
