Production Manager Job Description:
The Production Manager plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing operations to achieve CCP operating objectives. Reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.
- Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Achieve business objectives and execute production schedules, while ensuring product standards that will exceed customer expectations.
- Establish group and individual objectives throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction.
- Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices (5S) and safety throughout entire facility (KPI – Safe Days).
- Ensure customer quality (KPI - internal rejection rate, customer complaints, etc.) and support Quality Manager with corrective actions and disposition of non-conforming product.
- Host and/or support customer visits when necessary.
- Support customer escalation due to quality or delivery issues.
- Support the execution of new program launches (sampling, equipment, process layout, etc.).
- Drive continuous productivity improvement across all departments. Set expected performance levels of each department and reward, coach and develop individuals using a hands-on approach.
- Create a work environment that drives motivation, initiative, engagement, and stresses accountability.
- Assist planner with revisions to production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or other operations problems.
- Conduct meetings to resolve or settle personal complaints together with HR Manager.
- Work with HR and Quality Manager to develop training practices.
- Administer employee performance evaluations as needed.
Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Process Technician
- Mechanical Skills
- Physical Dexterity
- Time Management
- Oral / Written Communication Skills
- Computer skills / Excel
- Bilingual in Spanish is ideal (not necessary)
