Executive Chef – Catering Operations
Perfectly Seasoned Catering is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations. This position is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced catering environment, enjoys leading a team, and takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service for a wide variety of events.
Position Summary
The Executive Chef is responsible for managing kitchen operations, overseeing food production, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring successful execution of catering events. This role combines culinary leadership, inventory management, event coordination, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all back-of-house kitchen operations
- Create, organize, and manage daily and weekly prep sheets
- Place food and supply orders with vendors and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Monitor inventory levels and control food costs
- Schedule and coordinate kitchen production to meet event timelines
- Serve as the primary back-of-house lead for catering events
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
- Assist with menu development, recipe standardization, and seasonal offerings
- Coordinate with sales and event teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Manage kitchen organization, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes and kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience, preferably in catering, banquet, or high-volume food service operations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience with food ordering, inventory management, and vendor relations
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
- ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
