Job Summary
Chassis assembly marks the beginning of the main line production process. Following engineered drawings and work instructions, the Chassis Assembler constructs mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and power supply assemblies. Specialized equipment is occasionally used to assemble, modify, and test components, ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble Mechanical assemblies
- Assemble power supply assemblies
- Verify that the finished product meets quality standards as designated on the drawings
- Must be able to closely work with engineering on design/documentation issues and recommend improvements for manufacturability and quality
- Operates tools and production equipment
- This role requires flexibility with assemblers working independently or within a team based on a set schedule. Independence and self-drive are key qualities for successfully handling tasks without direct supervision. This role requires ownership, accountability, and the desire to commit to others success.
- Tools, Technology, or Equipment Used
- Regularly uses hand tools, electric drivers, test equipment, soldering irons, microscopes and presses for mechanical fasteners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of basic computer functions
- Comprehending mechanical drawings
- Hands-on mechanical skills
- Skilled in soldering electronic components
- Communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot individually or as a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
- Education requirements: GED/High School Diploma
- 2+ years of mechanical experience
Preferred Qualifications
IPC certification
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment with consistent exposure to the manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
