We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to resident in a small family home. Duties
- Prompt/assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organizing resident spaces
- Support residents during community outings or social activities to promote engagement and independence
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with facility policies and state regulationsRequirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, autism support, hospice care, or memory care is a plus
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and medication administration procedures
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect resident confidentiality at all times
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or health challenges
