We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient personal care, with experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and observe patients for changes in health status, documenting vital signs and reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Help with being support when the client has seziures
- Prepare nutritious light meals tailored to individual dietary needs,
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to sanitation standards.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere.
- Assist with patient transportation within facilities or community outings, ensuring safety at all times.
- Support families and caregivers by providing education on patient care routines and safety protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration.
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality.
