About Us
XPRT Fitness is a Massachusetts-based wholesale supplier of strength training and fitness equipment, serving national and regional sporting goods retailers since 2015. With 300+ active SKUs spanning strength equipment, conditioning gear, and racket & ball sports, we combine direct-factory sourcing with fast East Coast logistics to support our retail partners. We're a small, hands-on team — every person's work has direct, visible impact on the business.
The Role
We're hiring a Business Development & Key Account Manager to lead our next phase of wholesale growth — identifying, developing, and closing new retail accounts across the sporting goods and outdoor retail channel. Alongside that new-business focus, you'll also help support several of our key existing accounts — order coordination, forecasting, seasonal planning, and being an additional point of contact for retail buying teams — working alongside our current account team as those relationships evolve. This role is built for someone who wants to build a book of business, not just maintain one.
What You'll Do
- Identify, prospect, and close new wholesale retail accounts, expanding our footprint into new regions and customer segments — not limited to New England/the Northeast, but across the U.S. including the Midwest and Central regions
- Help support several of our key existing wholesale accounts, contributing to order coordination and order volume growth
- Coordinate order cycles, forecasts, and seasonal/promotional planning with retail buying teams
- Work closely with our operations team to ensure smooth order fulfillment and resolve account issues quickly
- Track account health (order trends, sell-through feedback, payment terms) and flag risks early
- Represent XPRT Fitness at trade shows and in-person meetings with prospective and existing accounts
- Take on other duties and projects as assigned by management to support the broader needs of the business
Growth Path
This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'll build our new-business pipeline from day one while also stewarding several of our key existing accounts, and as you grow our wholesale footprint, you'll be positioned to grow into a Director of Sales role leading that expanded function — not compete with a large existing sales team for visibility.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, key account management, or wholesale/retail buying — ideally in sporting goods, outdoor, consumer products, or a related hardlines category
- A track record managing complex retail or distributor relationships (multi-location chains, franchise systems, or similar)
- Strong organizational skills — comfortable owning forecasts, order cadences, and account details without things slipping through the cracks
- Clear, professional communication style; comfortable being the face of the company to retail buyers
- Proficiency with Excel/spreadsheets; CRM experience a plus
- Comfortable working remotely with strong self-management; willing to travel periodically for account visits and occasional visits to our Weymouth, MA office, especially during onboarding
- Based in the Eastern or Central time zone preferred, given our accounts and travel needs are concentrated in the Eastern U.S.
- A self-starter mindset — we're a small team, and this role carries real ownership from day one
Nice to Have
- An established network of relationships within the sporting goods / outdoor retail buyer community
- Experience in the fitness equipment, sporting goods, or outdoor recreation industry
- Familiarity with wholesale supplier portals / EDI systems (e.g., Walmart Supplier Center) is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $90,000
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on overall performance
- New Business Commission: uncapped on top of the above — earn a percentage of net-new wholesale revenue you personally develop, with no ceiling on upside (exact percentage discussed during the interview process)
- Health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off
Location & Schedule
Remote (U.S.-based, Eastern/Central time zone preferred) · Full-time · Periodic travel for account visits and industry trade shows, plus occasional visits to our Weymouth, MA office (more frequent during onboarding)
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
