JWF Industries is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.
This position combines engineering technology and manufacturing estimating responsibilities to support the quoting, planning, and execution of machining projects. The successful candidate will analyze engineering drawings, machining blueprints, technical specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate labor, material, machine time, and cost estimates that support project planning, scheduling, vendor selection, and profitability.
This is a high-visibility, salaried position that works closely with engineering, operations, production, and business development teams to develop competitive and accurate quotes for complex manufacturing projects.

- Analyze engineering drawings, machining blueprints, specifications, and customer documentation to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Review Requests for Quote (RFQs), contracts, and purchase requirements to determine project scope and manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare estimates for labor, materials, machine time, tooling, subcontracted services, and production costs.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend efficient, cost-effective production methods.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and supply chain teams to develop accurate proposals and quotations.
- Review machining processes, manufacturing methods, and technical requirements to support estimate development.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and increased profitability.
- Help evaluate vendors and subcontractors for cost, capability, and delivery performance.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost models, historical estimating records, and project documentation.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions and reporting tools to perform cost analysis and estimate development.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing, engineering, and estimating processes.
- Provide technical support during project reviews and proposal development activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline is required
- Minimum of two (2) years of estimating, engineering technology, manufacturing, machining, or related technical experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret machining blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, tooling, production methods, and engineering principles preferred.
- Experience preparing manufacturing estimates, quotations, bids, or cost analyses preferred.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including formulas, data analysis, spreadsheets, and reporting functions.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms. The employee may occasionally be required to visit manufacturing areas and interact with production operations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision requirements include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position primarily works in a professional office environment with regular interaction in manufacturing and machining facilities. While in production areas, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, vibration, and elevated noise levels.
