This is a busy one doctor Ophthalmology practice.
The Ophthalmic Technician responsibilities are but not limited to:
Obtaining and documenting patient's medical history, chief complaints, HPI, medications and allergies. They will be required to measure and record the patients IOP, administer eye drops for dilated exams, and conduct visual assessments as well as Visual Field exams when needed.
Knowlege of OCT and Macular scanning machines is required as well as A-Scan procedures.
The technician will assist the Doctor with minor medical procedures when necessary.
They will also provide patient education and instructions concerning the patient's medical condition and provide the patient with information pre and post- surgery and address any patient concerns.
The technician will also ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system. He/She will also be responsible for returning patient calls and calling in medication refills.
This position is for both of our offices, Falmouth and Hyannis.
