Job Summary:
As a Tower Technician, you are responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assembling/erecting various tower types, including self-support, monopoles, guyed towers, etc.
· Reading construction documents, clearly explaining tasks, and delegating tasks to crews are necessary to perform installations per all customer requirements.
· Installing antennas, coax, fiber cables, DC power, DC power cables, AC power.
· Proficiency in rigging techniques is highly desirable.
· Willingness to learn and adhere to climbing, rigging, safety, and company procedures.
· Must be flexible to work up to or over 12 hours per day
· Must be willing to work out of market when needed.
· Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
· Punctual and consistent attendance in accordance with the work schedule.
· Proficient in installation techniques of ground kits, cables, connectors, weatherproofing, antennas, and all associated materials and equipment.
· Identify and work with all required materials, tools and equipment needed to complete assigned work.
· Certifications in Tower climbing, OSHA, RF awareness, NWSA, First Aid and CPR
Education and Experience:
· High school graduate
· 2-3 years of tower industry experience
Physical Requirements:
· Physical agility, including the ability to bend, kneel, climb, and squat, with a full range of motion.
· Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
· Comfortable working at significant heights.
