We are seeking a dedicated, passionate 8th-grade science teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of middle school science concepts and a commitment to creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment. This role focuses on helping students explore scientific ideas through experiments, critical thinking, and real-world connections.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with district curriculum and standards

Teach core topics such as life science, earth science, and physical science

Create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving

Use hands-on activities, experiments, and demonstrations to support learning

Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed

Maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment

Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and needs

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to improve instructional practices

Integrate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement

Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices

Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field

Valid teaching certification in Louisiana (or enrollment in an approved alternative certification program)

Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)

Strong knowledge of science concepts and the scientific method

Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences

Desired Skills:
