Job Summary
Taj Imports Company is looking for a talented and fashion-forward Apparel & Accessories Designer to join our creative team in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a strong design portfolio, a keen eye for emerging trends, and the ability to translate concepts into commercially successful products.
Graduates from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and other leading fashion design programs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Design apparel and fashion accessories for seasonal and year-round collections.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, and detailed design specifications.
- Develop color palettes, fabric selections, trims, and materials.
- Research market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products.
- Prepare and maintain technical packages (Tech Packs) for production.
- Collaborate with sourcing, merchandising, and production teams.
- Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and product development meetings.
- Ensure designs align with brand standards, quality expectations, and target costs.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Accessories Design, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent creative, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) or a comparable fashion program.
- Experience in apparel and accessories design.
- Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, trims, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience creating Tech Packs and working with overseas vendors.
