Duties
- Provide expert consultations to assess clients’ hair types, needs, and desired styles, offering tailored recommendations for treatments, cuts, and styling techniques.
- Perform a variety of services including natural hair styling, braiding, twisting, locs maintenance, and protective styles that highlight natural textures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment by adhering to strict sanitation protocols for tools and workstations.
- Utilize salon software such as Vagaro to schedule appointments, manage client records, process retail sales, and track service history efficiently.
- Engage in retail sales by recommending hair products, tools, and accessories that support healthy natural hair care routines while upselling effectively.
- Offer educational guidance on hair care routines, product usage, and styling tips to empower clients to maintain their looks at home.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, answering inquiries, booking appointments, and ensuring smooth salon operations.
- Mentorship and education is an ongoing part of our salon environment.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with specialized training or experience in natural hair care preferred.
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on natural hair styling and treatments.
- Methods such as braiding, twisting, locs maintenance and interlocking.
- Familiarity with salon software like Vagaro for appointment scheduling and retail management.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with diverse clients and understand their unique needs.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Experience in retail sales and upselling techniques to enhance client experience and salon revenue.
- Skills in store management tasks including front desk operations and mentoring team members are a plus.
