Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces
- Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Document care activities meticulously in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes with a focus on senior care or disability support
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition or behavior
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
