Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the execution of power delivery projects across the United States. In this role, you will provide leadership for the construction of substations, transmission lines, switchyards, utility interconnections, and other critical electrical infrastructure. Day-to-day, you'll oversee field operations, manage subcontractors and project teams, and work closely with customers and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving project execution from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate is a field-tested construction leader who builds strong teams, thrives in fast-paced, field-based environments, and is passionate about advancing the infrastructure that supports utilities, renewable energy, and mission-critical facilities nationwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead construction activities for multiple power delivery projects nationwide
- Develop construction execution plans, schedules, and staffing strategies
- Oversee field operations, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure safe and efficient execution
- Monitor project progress, budgets, productivity, and resource utilization
- Conduct regular site visits to support field teams and resolve project challenges
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards
- Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, project stakeholders, and field personnel
- Support project planning, estimating, constructability reviews, and project forecasting
- Mentor and develop superintendents, foremen, and other field leaders
- Ensure projects meet quality standards through inspections, testing, commissioning, and closeout
Required Experience/Skills
- Experience managing utility, substation, transmission, or power delivery construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction safety, scheduling, quality control, and project execution
- Proven ability to lead field teams and coordinate subcontractors across multiple projects
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting substations, transmission lines, switchyards, utility interconnections, renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure projects
- Previous experience as a Construction Manager, Superintendent, Project Manager, General Foreman, or similar leadership role
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and utility construction standards
- OSHA, PMP, or other relevant industry certifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
