Position: Permanent Housing Supportive Services Coordinator

Organizational Summary:
Soldier On is a private non-profit organization providing services for veterans that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Soldier On operates multiple transitional and permanent housing residencies throughout Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, providing services to over 500 veterans daily. In addition, Soldier On has been the recipient of SSVF grants since September 2011. These grants provide case management services, outreach services, and temporary financial assistance for veterans that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. These grants currently serve 49 counties in New York, 9 counties in New Jersey, 23 counties in Western Pennsylvania, and 4 counties in Western Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
Position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of services to veteran and/or veteran’s household within permanent housing settings. Additionally, the position is responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and/or identifying programming to meet those needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing linkages to needed services for low-income residents living in affordable housing communities. The majority of job activities are performed on site at various Soldier On communities. The position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Qualifications:
- Relevant education and/or experience in human services or related field. Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor's Degree.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to drive up to 6 hours per day if necessary.
- Ability to be supportive and respectful to all veterans served.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse families.
- Ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of team.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong level of understanding and comfort with various forms of technology.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate services throughout portfolio of Soldier On properties.
· Track participation and engagement amongst residents.
· Analyze data and outcomes related to resident supportive services.
· Ensure consistency of services throughout portfolio.
· Organize internal and external partners delivering on site supports.
· Interact with case management staff on site.
· Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals.
· Conduct needs assessments and surveys to understand residents’ needs.
· Adhere to agency policy, procedures, and professional code of ethics.
· And other duties assigned by supervisor.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
