Loyola Jesuit Center, a Jesuit, Catholic retreat house is seeking a full-time Assistant Facility Director. Loyola is a comprehensive Jesuit, Catholic spirituality and retreat center, located in Morristown, NJ. In 2027, we will celebrate our 100th anniversary of welcoming all who seek to develop a closer relationship with God.
This is an onsite position. Hours: 40 hours per week (Tuesday - Saturday)
- Completion of daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and seasonal maintenance tasks for retreat center facilities.
- Under direction of the Director of Facilities & Maintenance (and/or the Director of Operations), conduct maintenance, inspection, and proper operation of all building systems, including boilers, plumbing, electrical, sewer, HVAC, exhaust and ventilation, fire protection, and security systems.
- Ensure that maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment are used properly and are stored securely.
- Ensure facilities meet cleanliness standards in compliance with local and state health regulations.
- Ensure proper and lawful disposal of all waste, including hazardous materials.
- Conduct the removal of ice and snow from walkways, stairs, and parking areas to ensure safety.
- Receive deliveries of supplies and equipment as needed.
- Maintain exterior grounds to uphold the attractive appearance of the campus.
- Review and fulfill facility setup and event preparation requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- In collaboration with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, maintain a comprehensive and organized filing system for maintenance logs, materials safety data sheets, manuals, warranties, work orders, setup requests, vendor lists, schedules, and equipment inventory.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Facilities & Maintenance (and/or the Director of Operations) regarding maintenance priorities, upcoming work, and ongoing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Background Check
- Possession of or willingness to pursue HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing licensure as needed.
- Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week and be on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, using proper techniques, along with the ability to use equipment necessary for the position.
Salary: $60,000 plus benefits
Start Date: Mid-July to beginning to August.
