CDL Class A Long-Haul Truck DriverJob Summary
We are looking for a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our growing transportation company. This position is focused on safely operating a tractor-trailer to haul dry van freight on long-haul routes, including lanes such as California, Texas, and future Midwest routes.
The ideal driver is professional, safety-minded, reliable, able to drive manual transmission and understands the importance of on-time delivery, clean communication, and taking care of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer on long-haul routes.
- Haul dry van freight in a safe, legal, and professional manner.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
- Maintain accurate ELD logs and comply with DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service rules.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding pickup times, delivery schedules, delays, route changes, or equipment issues.
- Secure freight as required and ensure loads are transported safely.
- Keep truck clean and report maintenance issues immediately.
- Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and customer requirements.
- Represent the company professionally with customers, shippers, receivers, and roadside inspectors.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Clean and safe driving record preferred.
- 3+ years experience operating tractor-trailers.
- Long-haul or regional driving experience preferred.
- Must be able to use an ELD.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to communicate clearly.
- Ability to complete inspections and basic paperwork accurately.
- Must follow DOT safety regulations and company policies.
- Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be able to drive Manual Transmission
Preferred Qualifications
- Dry van experience.
- Experience running California to Texas lanes.
- Basic understanding of truck maintenance and how to identify problems early.
