SUMMARY OF POSITION
Welcome and warmly greet guests upon arrival. You are the first face our guests see, which means their overall experience with us begins with you! Make them feel like family! Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to table that best serves their wishes.
DUTY & RESPONSIBILITIES
- · Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival with, “Welcome to Drifter’s!”
- · Greeting guests is a priority! Thus, if a guest walks up while you’re in the middle of something, always acknowledge the guest immediately and inform them you’ll be with them shortly.
- · When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
- · When immediate seating is limited, please take down the guests name, phone number, and information about their seating preferences (number of people, inside vs. outside, special needs, etc.). Assign a pager if possible.
- · Provide guests with estimated waiting time (should be no more than 1 ½ hours)
- · Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
- · Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
- · Upon seating, offer menus to the guest(s) and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect the table for proper presentation, cleanliness and completeness.
- · Immediately after seating a table, inform the server assigned to the table before returning to host stand.
- · Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
- · During downtime, assist in bussing tables and taking out trash.
- · Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
QUALIFICATIONS
- · No previous restaurant experience required.
- · Smile and maintain a happy demeanor in various circumstances.
- · Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time & able to lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
- · Must have exceptional grooming habits
- · Must be able to multi-task and be exceptionally organized.
- Able to work weekdays (Wednesdays - Fridays) as well as weekends.
- Able to work through the end of September
