Job Summary
The Estimator with Restoration Experience is responsible for assessing property damage and preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for restoration projects involving water, fire, smoke, mold, and storm damage. This role works closely with project managers, insurance adjusters, and clients to ensure timely approvals, proper scope definition, and successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess damage from water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disasters
- Prepare accurate estimates using industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Xactimate)
- Develop detailed scopes of work and cost breakdowns for restoration and reconstruction projects
- Communicate with insurance adjusters to support claims, negotiate scope, and obtain approvals
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with project execution
- Review change orders and update estimates as project scope changes
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards, insurance requirements, and local building codes
- Maintain organized project documentation, photos, notes, and reports
- Provide clear explanations of estimates to clients and stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong knowledge of restoration processes (water mitigation, fire/smoke restoration, mold remediation, reconstruction)
- Proficiency with Xactimate or similar estimating software
- Experience working with insurance claims and adjusters
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and construction documents
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

- May require after-hours or emergency response support as needed

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
