Starting Salary Range: This full-time, temporary contract faculty instructor pursuant to Ed Code 87481/2 salary range is $70,350 to $107,987 per year, and will enjoy a 175-day work schedule as a temporary contract employee for the 2026-2027 Academic Year, with salary placement determined by documented education and experience; maximum initial salary step placement on the 175-day faculty salary schedule is step 9. This categorically-funded position pursuant to Ed Code 87481/2 is scheduled to begin on August 17, 2026. This position is onsite at our Aptos and Watsonville campuses as needed and assigned, and may be available for hybrid assignments (onsite locations as noted above AND online).

About the Department: The Communications Department is a part of the School of Business and Social Sciences, and offers a variety of communication courses that include topics in interpersonal, intrapersonal, intercultural, and health communication, political communication and debates, gender communication, speech, group communication, and techniques for overcoming speech anxiety.

Selection Procedure
Meeting the posted requirements is not a guarantee of an interview. A written performance exercise and/or teaching demonstration/presentation may be a part of the interview.
