Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Truck/Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts, and preventive inspections to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, cutting, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to support maintenance tasks or move equipment safely.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems on farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently restore vehicles to optimal working condition.
- Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and parts inventory to ensure accountability and streamline workflow.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck and equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar machinery, diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components.
- Experience working with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for truck drivers’ fleet vehicles or similar heavy-duty transportation assets.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions; willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Pay: $30.64 - $36.89 per hour
