Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance on food handling, safety procedures, and efficient workflow.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Support staff training initiatives by mentoring team members on food safety standards, customer service excellence, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety protocols through regular inspections and documentation.
- Assist with shift management duties including scheduling, coordinating tasks among team members, and resolving operational issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and cooking.
- Demonstrated supervisory or assistant management experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions and inventory tracking.
- Experience managing inventory control, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis in a food service context.
- Background in fine dining or casual dining environments with catering or banquet experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop team members effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for managerial tasks such as interviewing staff, conducting training sessions, and managing customer relations.
