Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the daytime cleaning, operations, repair, and maintenance of all general building components. The Technician will also assist the Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer in routine preventative maintenance tasks, housekeeping and painting as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of building interior and exterior components and building systems.
- Conduct restroom inspections and clean/restock throughout the day.
- Perform daily rounds of the property for litter control and to empty trash containers.
- Conduct daily inspections of public areas and make repairs as necessary.
- Perform cleaning and power washing in common areas of the property.
- Replace light bulbs as needed throughout the property.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance program as assigned by his/her supervisor, including annual cleaning of coils in air handling units and filter replacements.
- Assist Engineers in placing orders for compressors, pumps, motors, parts, etc., with suppliers.
- Respond to alarms and assist Management personnel to resolve incidents.
- Oversee vendors and contractors working on the property.
- Ability to use regular and special tools (screwdrivers, hammers, adjustment gauges, multi meters, and lubrication equipment).
- Respond to emergencies and routine tenant service calls.
- Comply with Lerner Corporation's Employee Manual and Safety guidelines.
Experience and Skills
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of residential or commercial retail/office buildings.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Must be reliable, dependable with excellent attendance, flexible and versatile.
- Ability to climb portable and fixed ladders and work at heights.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
