TITLE: CUSTODIAN
BASIC FUNCTION: Ensure cleanliness of all campus buildings and grounds, set up/tear down events, tend to minor repairs, and perform opening/closing duties. Requires flexibility of time and days of week and some work on holidays. This is a part-time position.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports directly to the Director of Church Operations and is accountable to the Building and Grounds Committee.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep buildings and grounds clean and well maintained, including but not limited to the following: Sweeping inside and outside; Mopping and/or vacuuming floors; Wash walls, windows, and blinds; Dust furniture, railings, etc., and window sills; Clean bathrooms: Clean one bathroom each day, making sure all are cleaned thoroughly at least once a week; Spot clean rugs, etc.
- Assure readiness of Sanctuary for Sunday services, weddings, etc.
- Be on site Sunday mornings for opening/closing duties, as well as needs that come up during the Worship service.
- Prepare room and table set-ups as requested by Supervisor or by Committee.
- Tend to minor repairs, including plumbing and electrical. For major repairs on equipment and buildings, report needed repairs to the Director of Church Operations.
- Assist other church committees/groups in custodial activities as directed by Supervisor.
- Maintain appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment and order as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Buildings and Ground Committee.
- Attend meetings as requested.
