Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Drive route-specific vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, to deliver freight across designated areas. The openings are for DRY VAN FREIGHT at the moment
- Assist in Loading and unloading cargo and ensuring proper securing of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while adhering to planned schedules and delivery windows.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure and after return.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations while keeping on time deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any incidents encountered during trips. Take photos of loaded and unloaded truck.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Min 2 YEAR CDL License
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with freight loads such as freight containers or hazardous materials.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various vehicle types like dry vans, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations; experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance at all times while ensuring on time delivery.
- Physical ability to handle freight cargo safely and perform routine vehicle inspections; must meet physical requirements for commercial drivers.
