Duties
- Safely operate paratransit vans to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and respectful customer service at all times.
- Ensure vehicles are well-maintained by conducting routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to guarantee passenger safety during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles such as limousine or school bus driving.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early.
