- Oversee and administer Tonawanda’s accounting system to ensure all financial reporting, policies, and procedures are in compliance with GAAP and applicable laws.
- Serve as a key member of the Tonawanda leadership team with a strong on-site presence to effectively support operations and fulfill position responsibilities.
- Report directly to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.
- Prepare and oversee the monthly close process for the plant, ensuring completeness and accuracy of report packages.
- Analyze product costs and compile product cost statements for management review on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts on a monthly basis.
- Proactively meet with plant management regularly to discuss cost comparisons to budget and perform cost analyses to drive cost management and savings.
- Coordinate annual physical inventories and update the system to actual based on count results, reporting variances to local and corporate management.
- Establish and update standard inventory values on an annual basis or as needed.
- Prepare necessary regulatory filings including periodic sales & use tax filings, annual FORM 1099’s, and any other non-payroll required filings.
- Assist in ERP (IFS) Implementation for Finance and Operations teams.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance and have 3 or more years of management experience.
- Have strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Be knowledgeable in the principles and practices of purchasing, including competitive bidding practices.
- Have high standards of ethics and integrity and be able to represent the company in a professional and effective manner to various associations, customers, vendors, and the public.
- Have the ability to manage and compile large amounts of data into meaningful analysis.
- Be self-motivated and have the proven ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment to drive operations and process improvements.
