JAG Healthcare Marion is currently seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a part-time basis. Responsibilities
(include but are not limited to):
- Assist the supervising Physical Therapist with screenings, evaluations, re-evaluations, discharge planning, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders
- Carry out established treatment plans designed to improve resident mobility, strength, balance, safety, and independence
- Provide therapeutic treatments and exercises under the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist
- Document resident progress, treatment outcomes, and observations accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
- Monitor resident response to treatment and report changes in condition or progress to the supervising therapist
- Assist with discharge recommendations and continuity of care planning
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, facility, and professional practice standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Current Ohio Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license required
- Active license in good standing
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred but not required
- Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care
