A Lead Field Installer is responsible for the completed, quality installation of all fabricated and milled products in their final destination. This is a leadership position where the Lead Installer makes decisions to best effect the outcome of the final product and can delegate tasks to other Field Installers to efficiently complete the work. They must demonstrate their commitment to Titan’s mission and values, and understand the details of metal fabrication and woodworking and how they pertain to the work being done on a jobsite. The responsibility of a Lead Field Installer is to develop the skills necessary to work independently to lead projects.
Lead Field Installer Skills and Responsibilities:
- Show proficiency and experience in installation of steel building components in past work.
- Remain current on recurring safety training and certifications.
- Consistently demonstrate Titan’s mission and values in your work.
- Independently operate MIG and TIG welders to produce consistent high quality welds and repairs in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead).
- Accurately layout, secure, and finish installed items in a timely and quality manner.
- Manage quality control checks onsite to eliminate punch lists and callbacks from the builder/client.
Lead Field Installer Learning Objectives:
- Complete OSHA 30 Construction Course.
- Learn to lead teams of Field Installers to layout and fit up assemblies on site to be square, level, and plumb as well as of the highest finish quality consistent with Titan Architectural Products’ expectations.
- Learn weld finishing skills up to Titan Architectural Products’ standards . Perform all types of grinding and finishing skills to Titan Architectural Products’ standards, from weld prep to coating prep, to powder coat, paint and patina touch up.
- Understand the appropriate times to rigging assemblies to lift fabricated products (staircases, awnings, pergolas, etc.) into place and where to properly anchor them.
- Complete internal D1.1 weld test (if required for scope of work).
