Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the PM shift to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring proper documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavioral health protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care plans are followed and communicate any changes or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control procedures, practicing proper hand hygiene, and managing infectious disease precautions.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support (BLS) when required.
- Support patients during transfers and ambulation using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or gait belts.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with relevant licensing authorities.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals—including Level I Trauma Centers—and outpatient or post-acute care settings.
- Demonstrated competency in medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic nursing procedures.
- Familiarity with PCC systems for accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and behavioral health considerations is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking and quick decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient service while maintaining professional boundaries.
