Job Summary: Under indirect supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of cat scan images. Responsible for the care of the patient while in the CT department. Hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Major Job Functions:
- Performs CT scans on patients which includes the following: getting the patient undressed and ready for procedure, goes over consent form with patient, explains the procedure to them, gives patient water or any other agent needed for the test, fills the injector, starts IV on patient, scans patient and processes the films, and helps patient to get dressed after procedure is complete.
- Checks the patient’s images and lets the patient go. Faxes reports to referring doctor when necessary.
- Burns CD for patient after their study if requested.
- Verifies or check out images on computer. This includes start, end, remove, modify, and add information on computer.
- Restock procedure rooms and order supplies if needed.
- Disinfect rooms according to OSHA guidelines.
- Answers questions on phone from patients, doctor’s offices, and scheduling department.
- Perform Creatinine tests on patients requiring lab work.
- Collect, wash and restock laundry as needed.
- Performs X-rays and Bone Density exams as needed.
- Provides patient care and comfort and honors patient’s bill of rights.
- Updates ACR CT Accreditation when necessary.
- Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and machine.
- Explains procedure to patient and maintains patient’s safety.
- Follows OSHA Standards for Blood Bourn Pathogens.
- Scans appropriate paperwork into PACS.
- Keeps up with continuing education as required.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.
Specifications:
- Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Experience: No post graduate experience required.
- Certification/License/Registration: Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT. Sub-specialty registration in CT preferred. Maintain Continue Education Credits. BLS/CPR certification required.
