$45–$55/hour | 2-Year Contract (+ Follow-On Projects) | Travel | Day or Night Shifts | No Weekends
We install and commission airport baggage handling systems (BHS), and we're hiring a field Superintendent to run the crews that build them. This is hands-on BHS installation in active airport terminals, from steel and conveyor through commissioning and Go-Live. This is not warehouse, plant, or facility-maintenance work. If you've run millwright crews building baggage handling systems for airports, this is a rare opening with long-term runway.
You must have (please do not apply without this):
- Direct experience installing and commissioning airport baggage handling systems (BHS) or airport conveyor and sortation systems.
- Experience leading field crews of 10 to 20 (millwrights, electricians, controls) on system installation projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise BHS install crews of 10 to 20 through mechanical installation, alignment, and commissioning.
- Direct installation of conveyor lines, tail sort, STV, carousels, header steel, overhead conveyor, guarding, belts, and scan tunnels.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and installation specs from layout through install to close-out.
- Manage RFIs, redline engineering changes, punch lists, and project close-out (IOQ, WHS).
- Coordinate daily with general contractors, vendors, commissioning and controls teams, and airport stakeholders through Go-Live.
- Run daily safety meetings and toolbox talks, and enforce OSHA and airport site security requirements.
- Handle manpower planning, procurement, scheduling, and site logistics.
What You Bring
- 5+ years as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Lead Foreman on BHS, airport, or conveyor installation projects.
- Background with BHS integrators such as Vanderlande, BEUMER, Siemens Logistics, Daifuku, Fives, Diversified Conveyors, or Glidepath a strong plus.
- Hands-on conveyor install background (for example, Hytrol conveyor, Fives shoe sorter, tail sort, STV systems).
- Proven crew leadership (10 to 20+) on field installation.
- Strong mechanical blueprint and spec literacy; familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or Navisworks a plus.
- OSHA 30, and comfort obtaining an airport security badge and passing a federal background check.
- Willingness to travel; follow-on projects may be in other markets.
Why Apply
- $45–$50/hour, overtime at time and a half.
- Two-year contract with strong potential to roll onto additional airport projects.
- No weekend work.
- High-visibility role on critical airport infrastructure.
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
