Incumbent drives and maintains assigned diesel or gasoline powered commercial trucks for the collection of refuse on designated commercial and residential routes. Drives and operates special mechanisms with Grapple and Roll-off units for loading unloading and collection of refuse or special waste. Controls the operations of electrical hydraulic and related mechanical systems for mechanized lifting collecting loading compacting hauling and unloading of refuse and debris at a designated location. Maintains pre & post trips vehicle reports collection route changes equipment status and logs problem areas for office personnel. Responsible for cleaning interior and exterior of assigned equipment and perform all minor maintenance as needed. Assists in building maintenance and equipment repairs. Will work holidays weekends and special events. Will perform other duties as assigned.
STARTING HOURLY PAY: $19.87 p/h
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Three (3) years of experience in the operation of Heavy Automotive Commercial trucks or other Heavy Collection Equipment.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B (State of residence) with Medical Certification. Must meet City’s insurability requirements.
