Duties
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling dishes, portioning ingredients, and setting up stations for service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas by following proper sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to meet presentation standards
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper food handling practices
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely meal production
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking experience within a restaurant or food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety management, safety standards in production, and proper food handling techniques
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation methods
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and support team efforts
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, catering, or meal prep is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
