Job description:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Licensed Dispensing Optician to join our optician team at our Crossroads Bellevue location.
Our optical store works in collaboration with a nearby optometry office, allowing us to provide customers with convenient access to both eye care and eyewear services in one location.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, reliable, team-oriented, energetic, and passionate about providing excellent customer service and professional optical care.
This is a full-time position for an optician who is comfortable working directly with customers, assisting with eyewear selection, performing fittings and adjustments, and supporting daily optical store operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Dispensing Optician License
- ABO Certification
- NCLE Certification
- Customer service experience
- Optical or eyewear retail experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work some weekends
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist customers with frame and lens selection
- Recommend appropriate lens options based on prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs
- Take accurate optical measurements
- Dispense prescription glasses
- Perform professional eyeglass fittings and adjustments
- Troubleshoot eyewear and lens-related issues
- Check vision insurance benefits and file insurance claims
- Answer phone calls and assist with customer inquiries
- Support sales and daily store operations
- Maintain accurate patient and customer information
- Work closely with opticians, sales associates, and the on-site optometry office
- Maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Licensed Dispensing Optician
- Chinese-speaking candidates are preferred
- Bilingual or multilingual
- Experience with progressive lenses, high-index lenses, and specialty lens products
- Experience with vision insurance
- Strong eyewear styling and sales skills
- Prior experience in optical retail, optometry, or ophthalmology
