Position Summary:
As a Data Entry Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities revolve around inputting information about patient prescriptions into record-keeping programs while monitoring and recording prescription details in an accurate manner. You must be detail-oriented to keep prescription information in the appropriate files. Ensuring all records, both digital and paper, are easily accessible to pharmacy techs and pharmacists. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be dependable, have strong organizational skills, be adaptable, and have the ability to work well with a team as well as possess the tolerance for working in a high-pressure environment.
Essential Duties include the following:
- Reviews, interprets, and enters data with a high degree of accuracy and detail
- Generates, receives, and maintains confidential and sensitive documentation, files, information, and reports to ensure the security of files and data
- Quickly and accurately tracks data with little to no errors
- Maintains confidence and protects sensitive information for patients
- Interprets and enters prescription orders accurately for pharmacist approval
- Learns patients’ needs and specific requests
- Reports to pharmacy technician supervisor
- Works closely with others within the team
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year Pharmacy Tech experience (preferred)
- Pharmacy Technician License (preferred)
- Exemplary attention to detail
- Well-received/respected by coworkers with willingness to maintain positive morale
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to retain information such as words, numbers, and procedures
- Teamwork mindset with strong interpersonal skills
