American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 Neonatal ICU position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring a BSN, active OR RN license, and a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience.

46-bed Level 4 NICU caring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns
-
Patient admissions include internal high-risk perinatal transfers as well as transports from hospitals across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii
-
Multidisciplinary specialist support available in endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30

Weekend work is required

Floating within the hospital is required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

No on-call requirements

Charting is done in Epic; experience is required

Block scheduling is not available

Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board

BSN required

Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required

Current certifications required: BLS and NRP

Epic EMR experience required

Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references are not acceptable

Nurses participate in the education of nursing students and pediatric residents as part of the hospital's academic teaching mission

Hospital is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital with 549 staffed beds

Scrubs are provided; no printed scrubs permitted

COVID vaccination proof is required; no exemptions

First-time travelers are considered with 3 or more years of NICU experience

Local candidates are accepted

RTO is limited to 1 week maximum and must be disclosed at the time of consideration

Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler; a reference from the supervising OHSU manager is required for returning candidates
