This position is for overnights.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and possess the necessary skills to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of animals while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
As a Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Performing diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and X-rays
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
- Providing animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both staff and animals
- Educating pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques
- Managing kennel duties, including cleaning, feeding, and exercising animals in our care
- Demonstrating knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy to assist with various tasks
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a related field such as animal husbandry or dog training
- Strong skills in dog handling and animal restraint techniques
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures
- Basic knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in diagnostics and treatments
- A commitment to providing compassionate care for animals and excellent service to pet owners
