Job Summary
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for assisting guests and service technicians in identifying, locating, and purchasing the correct Ford parts and accessories. This role requires strong product knowledge, accuracy, and the ability to manage inventory and transactions efficiently within a dealership environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ordering, receiving, and distribution of automotive parts and materials
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels meet operational needs
- Research, source, and price parts from approved vendors while monitoring cost efficiency
- Verify part numbers, compatibility, and specifications to prevent delays or errors
- Communicate effectively with internal staff regarding parts availability
- Process returns, warranties, and core credits in accordance with company, manufacturer and vendor policies
- Monitor backorders and proactively identify alternative sourcing solutions
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in automotive parts, inventory coordination, or a related role preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
