American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Newborn Nursery/Transition Nursery position in El Paso, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active NRP certification.

Position is located in a Transition Nursery unit on the 4th floor of the facility
-
Unit has 10 beds, 1 procedure room, 2 ORs, and 4 triage bays
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Patient ratio is 1:3; vapotherm cases require 1:1 ratio
-
Equipment used includes panda warmers, cribs, all NRP equipment, and hospital-grade breast pumps

EMR system is Meditech/CPN
-
Rotating weekend requirement

No on-call requirements
-
13-week contract
-
Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)

Current NRP certification — must be Advanced 9th Edition from the American Academy of Pediatrics

Minimum 1 year of recent Newborn Nursery RN experience required

US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if currently licensed in Florida or Missouri)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
-
Typical procedures performed include Apgar scoring, Ballard assessments, medication administration, and vapotherm management

STABLE certification is preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Galaxy blue scrub top and bottom required

The Newborn Nursery, Mother/Baby, and L&D teams participate in a collaborative work environment with shared team events
