Hours: 20-30 per week
We are a locally-owned, upscale, inclusive cocktail bar focused on offering innovative and well-crafted cocktails with unique ingredients to a diverse clientele. In addition to bar skills, conversation, friendliness, and building community are important elements of the bar. We are looking for a candidate who is able to not only craft wonderful drinks, but also engage with a wide variety of people.
Bar Max is proud to be a designated a Denver Legacy Business as of 2024, having been operating now for almost 12 years. We are currently in the process of revising and updating our menu, space, and systems. Candidates who are interested and experienced in contributing to improving the bar experience, and that are comfortable with adapting as we continue to implement changes, will be given priority.
We are looking for folks who have customer service experience (especially cocktail bar experience) and value a career in the service industry, but we hire more based on personality, motivation to learn, and willingness to do the less glamorous parts of bar work (e.g. cleaning, dishes!).
We are a full service bar and provide table service to guests. Our team members do everything from seating guests, taking orders, making drinks and food, doing dishes, and cleaning. Everyone who works does everything necessary to make service run smoothly.
We are a small staff that values communication, initiative, and adaptability. We are looking for a charismatic addition to our team. We love our little bar, and we hope you do too!

Job Responsibilities (includes but not limited to...)
- Prepare and serve a variety of cocktails and drinks to customers, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
- Engage in opportunities to experiment with a wide variety of ingredients to develop new cocktail recipes and menus.
- Provide table service to guests.
- Offer excellent customer service by greeting, engaging, and attending to customers' needs in a friendly and professional manner.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally, promptly, and in a friendly manner.
- Keep a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies, and making grocery lists as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender, especially with craft cocktails and mixology.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
- Knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially within a team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Be willing to appear in social media posts to promote the bar.
Required:
- Must be of legal drinking age (21+)
- Capacity to meet the physical demands of the job, such as consistently lift 25 pounds (cases of liquor and wine)
- Available to work Wednesday-Saturday afternoons and evenings starting at 3pm until close
